Our greatest attraction is not man-made, it is the incredible natural environment that surrounds us. Galloway Forest Holiday Park is nestled in the Forest Park, one of Scotland’s most stunning and unspoilt landscapes. Known for its vast woodlands, rolling hills, and wildlife, the forest is also home to the UK’s first Dark Sky Park, making it one of the best places in the country for stargazing.
Here, you can step outside your holiday home or pitch and be immersed in nature, breathe the fresh air, listen to birdsong, watch red deer roam, or simply look up and see thousands of stars undisturbed by light pollution. Whether you are here to explore, unwind, or gaze at the night sky, the surroundings are truly what make this park so special.
Our well-stocked on-site shop is open daily and provides a convenient place to pick up essentials during your stay. From groceries and snacks to toiletries and camping items, you will find all the basics you need just a short walk from your pitch or accommodation.
Fresh water is never far away at Galloway Forest Holiday Park. We have several easily accessible water points located throughout the park, ensuring you can fill up with minimal effort, whether you are staying in a touring caravan, motorhome or tent.
Our modern laundry area is equipped with washers and dryers, making it easy to keep your clothes and linen fresh during your stay. Whether you are staying for a few days or several weeks, our laundry facilities help take the stress out of longer visits.
Your safety is our priority. Fire extinguishers are positioned at key points across the park, regularly maintained and clearly marked. We also have safety notices in place to guide guests on best practices during their stay.
Galloway Forest Park is a fantastic area for cycling, and our secure bike shed offers a safe place to store your bikes when not in use. Whether you are heading out for a gentle woodland ride or tackling one of the nearby trails, your equipment will be kept secure and protected.
Although we are nestled in the heart of Galloway Forest Park, one of Scotland’s most peaceful wilderness areas Galloway Forest Holiday Park is easy to find and just over two hours’ drive from the M6/M74 at the England–Scotland border.
Directions from the A714 (Newton Stewart – Girvan road):
Head into Bargrennan village.
At the junction by the House o’ Hill pub, turn Right if you are coming from Newton Stewart or left if you are coming from Girvan
Drive past the pub and continue for about half a mile.
Look out for our sign, we’re on the left-hand side, just before the entrance to the Southern Upland Way trail

Whether you are here for a weekend of walking or a longer holiday in your own lodge or caravan, our facilities are here to make your stay smooth, safe, and stress-free.
Our clean and modern toilet and shower blocks are located centrally within the park, offering hot showers, private cubicles, and all the essentials you need. These facilities are regularly cleaned and maintained, ensuring a comfortable experience for all guests.
We are committed to keeping the park clean & environmentally friendly. Marked recycling and general waste bins are provided throughout the park, helping all guests do their part in protecting the natural surroundings.
We are a dog-friendly park, and we provide multiple dog waste bins across the grounds to help keep public areas clean and pleasant for everyone. Guests are encouraged to make use of these facilities when walking their pets around the park.
To help keep your accommodation tidy and your cooking equipment clean, we provide a dedicated pot wash area. Equipped with sinks and hot water, it is a practical and hygienic facility that helps keep things simple while camping or touring.
Chemical waste disposal points are available on site, designed for easy and hygienic use by those staying in touring caravans and motorhomes. These facilities are maintained to a high standard and are conveniently located for guest access.
